■[pc]MacへのIntel製CPU搭載をジョブズCEOが宣言

な、なんだってー！！

来年の今頃にはIntel製チップを搭載するMacを発表するとのこと。今まで散々PowerPCがIntelより優れているとか発表していたくせにこの切り替えはさすがだな。ジョブス様。

とはいえ、Intel製チップを採用するということは現在Windowsが稼動している我が家のPCにも素敵でエレガントなOSXをインストールすることができるかもしれないということですよね。うーん。R3にインストールすれば超軽量のPowerBookになり得るということか！すばらしい！！

ただ、問題は既存のアプリケーションが使えなくなる可能性があるということですかね。ダイナミック・バイナリ・トランスレータ（なんのこっちゃ）「Rosetta」でPowerPC向けコードも動作可能にすることができるそうですが、全てのアプリケーションが完全動作することはありえないでしょうし。まぁ、その辺は各アプリケーションベンダーに頑張ってもらうしかないか。

そういえば、次世代ゲームマシンは各種PowerPCを採用しているわけですが、その開発機であるMacがIntel製チップに変わってしまうとしたなら、これからどうやって開発機を導入していくのでしょうかね。今のうちにG5Macを買い占めておいて品薄になったらヤフオクにて転売するべきですかね。
